Grantee Spotlight: Los Angeles

The recent coronavirus surge is creating dire conditions for Los Angeles county residents. The county has surpassed a million total reported infections, with nearly 14,000 deaths. In early January, the county estimated that a person was dying of the virus every eight minutes.

The county urgently needed support, but government funding is not always timely or available. Kate Anderson representing LA County explained, “There are pieces that government funding just can’t do or isn’t fast enough at doing and this is where Together Toward Health has come in to help.”

Funding from TTH will:

  • Accelerate LA County's network of more than 50 CBOs serving historically under-resourced and hard to reach communities who are helping to prevent COVID-19.

  • Support 15-20 nonprofit clinics in LA's most impacted communities at they address the COVID-19 surge and help facilitate vaccine uptake.

  • Add 20-30 CBOs as partners in the LA County network for COVID-19 mitigation and vaccine uptake.
